Lesvos .. one of my favourite islands in the world and my yearly pilgrimage to be among Sappho’s women celebrating being alive and having a two week festival holiday.

This past year I had the honour of being the festivals official photographer and it was a great mix of a personal holiday while having professional access to photograph some amazing gigs. Oh my gosh the Camp Vamps are the coolest fun band ever.
It’s an amazing holiday where hundreds of women from around the world visit Skala Eressou, a tiny seaside town filled with amazing bars, restaurants and a festival where you can take part in as much as you like or relax when you’ve over stretched yourself. Not to mention a gorgeous clear sea, a rock to swim to and challenge yourself to swim off that hangover and so many friends that we see only at Lesvos.
Joanna Savva is a name you need to know, she will help you book your accommodation and bus travel. She is also the mastermind and founder of the festival that I love so much, the Sappho Womens Festival. If you’ve never heard of this festival .. well get researching as it’s amazing, relaxed, fun, vibrant with a wonderful community of women.
Here are some of my experiences from the festival, both personal and professional.
